Re: Swollen at 39 weeks??? help
I was VERY swollen in the last 2 months of pregnancy, they took me out of work and I had to sit all day with my feet elevated.
I think you should let your Dr know bc they may want to rule out signs of preclampsia. Did you have anything really salty recently like Chinese or Mexican? That could cause swelling too.
I am sure its fine and normal, but I always told my Dr about any changes I had.
In the meantime, drink lots of water and put your feet up on the ottoman!

I would let the Dr. know just in case..it's probably just water retention, but sudden swelling could be preeclamsia (not sure of spelling). Just to be sure, give your doc a call..GL.

My feet have swollen almost 2 sizes!! I hate it. I also have cankles. It is one of the worst symptoms, IMO.

I couldn't agree more. I have been swollen since 20 weeks, and now at 34, I'm growing out of the only 2 pairs of shoes I can find that fit. I'm starting to loose it, and now the swelling is going up my legs to me knees...not attractive.
Elevating my feet at night totally works. Even in bed, I keep a big euro pillow under my ankles when I sleep to give my feet a better shot of being as small as possible in the morning. It works, but within hours, all sharp objects should be kept away!!

Re: Swollen at 39 weeks??? help
I know at my check ups my doc checks my legs and squeezes them to make sure the circulation is good.. With swelling they worry about the blood not getting to your feet. I would put your feet up and drink lots of water and see if that helps bring it down. If continues I would just address to doc and make sure he/she is aware of it.
