I do type most of the day and I've been drinking a buttload of water, but what else can I do for my swollen, hurting hands??

Re: Swollen Hands??
Welcome to my world The only thing I've had trouble with are my hands swelling and I have to say ladies, nothing helps. I cut out salt completely from my diet for a while and that was BAD. I learned that the baby NEEDS salt! So I freaked and put it back into my diet. To be honest, it made a bit of a difference. I found my hands actually didn't swell as much as when I cut it out. I too drink a buttload of water a day and I'm on the computer a lot. What I found is if I'm moving around alot on my feet for the day, they're fine. Then when I sit for too long, or lie down, they blow up. When I'm hot, they blow up. Usually when I'm chilly, they're fine.
It comes and goes. I'm 30 weeks and I have to say that it's been getting a bit better as time goes on. They were SO bad in the beginning.
I'm sorry you ahve to deal, but I feel your pain. It's SO annoying. I ony got to wear my wedding rings for 2months before I had to let them go because oif the swelling

Re: Swollen Hands??
If they are really bad, call your OB - it's a symptom of preeclempsia

Re: Swollen Hands??
I dont know if this is true or not...but i was told that eating red meat at least once a week will help reduce swelling. Good Luck

I was going to say the same thing.
If your hands and face are swollen at the same time it is a symptom of preclampsia my doc said. I had done urine tests...24 hr..and had extreme swollen feet-he said its when its the face and hands its a sign so watch for that. I would still bring up the hands to doc regardless.
