Swollen lymph nodes
My DH has a swollen lymph node and has been having night sweats for a couple weeks now. He went to the Dr yesterday and they drew blood and sent him for a chest xray, which came back clear/normal. Waiting on the blood results. He said the dr wasn’t too concerned and the dr said he couldn’t explain it but just didn’t think it was anything to be of concern by feeling the swollen lymph node. My DH doesn’t have any other symptoms besides the lymph node and night sweats.
Of course, I am thinking the worst because of google and I’m so nervous. Has anyone else experienced this? What did it turn out to be?

Re: Swollen lymph nodes
Several years ago I had a swollen lymph node in my neck, just above my collarbone. It was huge.
I went to a doctor who said I pulled a muscle. I felt perfectly fine. Went to another dr who felt I was fighting some kind of bug. Within a few days I started feeling completely exhausted and a little headachy- for 3-4 days I came home from work & went to bed then finally I could not get up at all & stayed home. Then I was fine.
I still think it was odd- it felt like mono but I'd already had mono. So it could just be some kind of generic virus. If your dr isn't too worried, I wouldn't be. Good luck.

Swollen lymph nodes
Where is the lymph node? I have swollen ones in my neck, I've had them for a few years. I was super concerned, but had an xray and ultrasound and they are just normal enlarged ones. The doctor said it's because of my psoriasis on the back of my neck and extending into my scalp. They explained it's my body constantly fighting off the psorasis that the nodes think is an infection or something. I do notice that when my psorasis flares, the nodes get bigger, or if I mess with them.
BUT, with the night sweats (I don't get those), I would be a little concerned. I would probably ask for an ultrasound and CT scan to be honest.

Re: Swollen lymph nodes
I recently found 2 nodes behind my left ear that were swollen. I’d also been feeling so tired and unable to eat full meals. Also had intense pain in my stomach and very dark urine. It went on for weeks. I get night sweats sometimes. Not soaking, but the back of my collar is damp. Just had blood work, sono and chest X-ray. Blood Came back reactivated Epstein Barr virus. Other tests were clear.
Google is horrible. A hang nail is a death sentence. swollen nodes is always scary, night sweats too - but it can just be a virus. Try staying away from google. Get him eating healthy foods , take vitamins and rest As much as possible in the meantime (while you wait for test results and all) if it’s a virus - that’s really all you can do anyway.
Sending your DH positive thoughts

Swollen lymph nodes
Thanks ladies. His swollen nodes are by his groin. His blood results came back normal. He left a message for his Dr yesterday because he wants to go for a sono, but the Dr didn’t call him back (I guess because they close early on Saturdays). He’s going to call again first thing tomorrow morning.
