Synthetic grass?
DH is obsessed with finding out about getting this...anyone have it? Or know anything about it?
Basically...you never have to mow, water, etc. I think in the pictures it looks to fake, but DH thinks it looks good. We are going to the home and garden show at the meadowlands this Sunday to check it out....
Any opionions...

Re: Synthetic grass?
I was looking at the pictures on the website and its looks pretty nice but ask about drainage. With reall grass, you have dirt that is the drainage....what do you have with this stuff?

Re: Synthetic grass?
I don't know...according to DH, there is drainage somehow.
I asked because we have a dog, and my concern is when he pee's in the backyard, and according to the FAQ section, you can just hose it down.
I think he just wants to get out of mowing this summer

Oh my gosh that's hilarious! Who knew that they made that stuff!. I'd ask a ton a questions though before committing to it.

Re: Synthetic grass?
I wouldn't want that at my house, there are other things you can plant that don't need to be mowed like thyme and other ground cover plants.
I imagine it would get hot in the summer sun too so would the dog want to walk on it?

My guess would be that when they install it, they probably put in a layer of sand or gravel, or a mixture of well draining material over the exisiting soil and under the synthetic grass.
