taking DC to a BBQ

DD is only 4 months old. If you or when you took your DC to a BBQ, birthday party etc. around that age, what did you bring with you to put the baby in or did you just hold them the entire time? I can't leave her in the car seat, she sweats to much in there. Should I just bring the stroller? Any suggestions?

TIA

I always have the stroller or snap and go in my car.

But we took DD to a BBQ Memorial Day and she was held the entire time, mostly by other people Chat Icon

I usually have the stroller, but I have also brought his newborn to toddler rocker with us too

Mostly just hold him, either he sits on my lap or DH will carry him around. But we always have the stroller in the car so if he gets antsy we'll push him back in forth in that.

at 4 mos, we held him most of the time. He enjoys being bounced around from different people.

Now, at 6 mos since he is fully sitting up, playing with toys & almost crawling in reverse, I'm planning on bringing my pack n'play.

I bring a stroller since it is cooler to sit in than the infant car seat - and then you might want to bring a carrier in case the baby gets fussy and you to carry them around.
