Talk to me about acai bowls
I see they have become quite popular. I am dying to try but haven't gotten around to it yet. Does it taste similar to any other berry? When you get it is it like a pudding or frozen? Is it truly healthy or one of those things that seems healthy but really is not good for losing weight. Thoughts?

Talk to me about acai bowls
I was just recently introduced to them. They are delish. They can get pricey so I'm going to make my own. When I bought them, it's frozen with fruit, PB, coconut shavings (not too healthy). I'm going to put some plain Greek yogurt with it too.
It can be healthy, just depends what you put on it.
Trader Joe's had a package of 4 individual bags of Acai (frozen).

Re: Talk to me about acai bowls
The thing to watch for is the sugar. With a lot of fruit you always have to watch the calories/sugar. And granola is a carb/carlorie bomb! Yes, it's healthy as in it's not processed and it's fruit and natural ingrediants over junk, but if you are looking for weight loss, you just have to watch the sugar/carbs/calories. Portion size and moderation are key

Re: Talk to me about acai bowls
It's a like a super thick, frozen smoothie with fruit, granola, coconut and honey on top - and you can add and subtract toppings.
Is it healthy? Yes - there are many health benefits in the ingredients.
Is it good for weight loss? No way! They are super high in calories, and while it's mostly natural sugars, it's a lot of sugar.
To me it's a good for you cheat treat.

Talk to me about acai bowls
I'm addicted to them over the last 2 weeks. Delicious but pricey. Going to try making them at home. I like mine with almond butter and coconut on top.

If you live in Suffolk, go to Super Bowls in Sayville. They make the BEST acai bowls
