Talk to me about LI IVF
I am looking to switch REs for ins purposes and I would love to hear pros/cons about LI IVF. I would be going to the Melville office & would like to move onto IVF in a few mo when we switch ins co.
Which Dr do you recommend? I want a Dr I am comfortable with & one that will hold my hand & is sensitive through this IF process How is the staff? Monitoring hours/flexibility? feel free to FM
TIA

I've only met Dr. Brenner so far, but like him very much. While he isn't the "hand-holding" type, he is very nice, positive and straightforward. He is pleasant to deal with.
The office is nice - they are always on time, monitoring hours are 630am-8am during the week and 8-9am on weekends and holidays. I've liked most of the nurses I dealt with - they take care of the monitoring. Some are obviously nicer than others. . .Gail, the NP, is really great. I love her.
Pros: Always on time, very organized, they always call me back when I call.
Cons: It is a big office - you don't get to see the doctors a lot, unless it is for a consult or a procedure. Being my first round of IVF - I had a few moments when I just wanted to talk to the doctor, but he wasn't available. If it is a weekend or holiday, whatever doctor is working will do your procedure - not necessarily "Your" doctor.
You can FM me with any questions! Overal,, we are pretty happy there! Good luck!

thanks for responding. Do you know if the IUIs are done by the nurses or the Dr?

Re: Talk to me about LI IVF
I am a former (and successful IUI) Dr. Brenner patient too. He was recommended to me by one of my best friends who had a successful IVF with him after several failed IUI's. I would say both her and I are in agreeance with the PP that he is not the "warm and fuzzy, hand-holidng" type, BUT he knows his stuff and will always be upfront and straight forward with you.
I never had any bad experiences with any of the NP's there. And I definitely agree that the office is very organized and even the receptionists making the appointments and answering the phones are very friendly. It is true it's a much bigger practice than what I believe others are used to, but I never felt like I was not treated with as much importance as any other patient. I have been to both the Melville and Lake Success office, but my routine stuff was done in Melville.
From what I understand though, the majority of the time, the Nurses do the IUI's but that's not to say there is not an exception.

Re: Talk to me about LI IVF
I used to go to Dr.Brenner at LI-IVF. I only switched, because I personally didn't like having the NP's doing the IUI's.
Dr. Brenner was a great doctor, but he is not the senistive type and doesn't hold your hand throughout the process. I met with his associate Dr. Keningsberg once and I like him a lot too.
The Melville office is very nice the staff is amazing. I personally think better then Dr. Braverman's staff. The office is very organized. The wait time was about 15-20 min, but I haven't been there for years.
Good Luck!!!

I stand corrected... I must have been misinformed myself!
If I have an appointment, I personally have always been taken on time. For monitiring, it is usually about 10-15 minutes depending on what time you get there.
