Talk to me about your cleaning lady..

DH wants to get one for the big stuff 2x per month...I am opposed for a variety of reasons, however, I think I can be convinced especially since the baby is coming shortly and i would rather spend more time with DH and DS.

I have a few questions?

how much?
How many times a month to do the big cleanings?
What will they do?
What won't the do?
Are you home when they are there?
Is it worth it?

i really do not like the idea of someone coming into my house to clean it. For whatever reason, I feel uncomfortable about it. Like an invasion of privacy.

I pay $100

she also cleans the lobby for my landlord for an extra $20 that I take off the rent

she comes every 2 weeks

she cleans everything every time- I am talking the bathroom with a toothbrush

she charges extra for windows- but since I rent- I could care less about that

she comes at around 9am- Jake is normaly leaving for work then

she is there till 3pm or 3:30pm most of the time

it's totally worth it

my apartment gets trashed - and I can't keep up- I want her to come every week!

Mine is $100 as well but I only have her come when I need her...which has been every other month or so. I usually have her come before a dinner party or something. But, I would prefer if I had her come once a month.

She dusts, does the floors, deep cleans the bathrooms and kitchen -- she is really thorough.

I only have her come if I am home.

And yes, totally worth it and wish I had the cash to have her come more often.

Mine comes 2x per month, $120 per visit (I have a large house). She cleans everything from top to bottom except the upstairs which she does once per month since we never use the upstairs part of our house.

I think once I get further along in my pregnancy I may have her start coming every week since I'm sure it's going to get harder for me to keep up with the in between cleanings. If not then, definately once the baby comes I'll have her come every week.

Mine comes once a week (thursdays)
eta: its 100 a week

I am not always thrilled with their service but this past time they cleaned very well.

They all the vacuuming for the week, they mop the floors, clean the kitchen, dust all the furniture, make the bed,

It takes a few hours, i have a big house and its all wood floors top and bottom.

how much? $75 everytime she comes and she comes every two weeks

How many times a month to do the big cleanings? She does the same cleaning every time she comes. She cleans my entire house (2 bathrooms, 3 bedroom, LR, DR, den, kitchen--she takes out the garbage and makes my house spotless)

What won't the do? My cleaning lady does not do windows or the inside of my fridge or laundry or strip my beds or anything like that--she dusts, vacuums, mops, and cleans the bathroom)

Are you home when they are there? NOPE she comes while DH & I are at work but my father has been there on some occassions working oh the house while she is there. I feel comfortable with her because she came recommend from my DH's cousin and her whole family who lives in sayville uses her

Is it worth it? ABSOLUTELY, she is worth every cent. I don't have children but I love that I don't have to waste a day off cleaning. I hate cleaning--I do the inbetween though but it is very limited.

What won't the do? Nothing that I can think of!
