Talking...
When did your little ones start to talk? Cassidy is already saying "hi", "wow", "yay" hooray", "mama", "dada", "yeah", "cap" (for clap)...she does SO BIG and claps. I don't remember Scotty doing this so soon...?

Re: Talking...
Nick is almost 14 months and he still does not say much. So I have no idea, but I do think that boys are usually a little slower when it comes to that stuff. How old is your daughter?

Re: Talking...
Claire will be 11 months on Nov 12, and she seems to be at the same level as Cassidy. She does 'so big' and claps for everything. So far she says Dada, Mum, hi, bug, apple, ball, boo (like she is scaring you), baba, and other words we haven't figured out yet! LOL
So far she does not look like she will be walking for a least a few more weeks, she can pull up on furniture and stand, but doesn't take any steps. She has just mastered crawling on her knees instead of her tummy crawl.

Re: Talking...
By the time Emma was 10 months she wouldn't shut up!! UGH! It hasnt stopped in 3 1/2 years Jeremy on the other hand says, DAAAAA DAAAA, Baaa, MMMMM, Hi (but not clearly) and EEEEHHH (for Emma) he also does so big and claps and says YAY!
They say boys are slower than girls verbally and I can totally see that!

Re: Talking...
Joseph was about 8 months when he said it first word. By 15 months he had over 50 words (my mom counted) that he knew the meanings and could say pretty clearly (mom, dad, ball, hat, glove, lasagna, doctor).
Maddie was a bit slower - she said Joseph at about 10 months.

Re: Talking...
According to what i learned in my early childhood education..(on here and in school) .. Boys typically develop languistically later than girls.. my nieces were talking about the same time.. and I still thought it was late for my son, but he was about14 months when he stared saying more than Ma-ma and da-da.. and about two and a half when he came out with full sentences like he was speaking for years! lol....
Also as your second child Cassidy is surrounded by all the love from her big brother who is walking talking, hopping and skipping A-ok... and usually baby's#2+ advance quicker b/c they want to particiate in what Mommy and daddy and big sibling are doing.. HTH
