Talking about Amy Winehouse on The View now

One of the things that they are saying is that Amy's parents have asked people to stop buying her records so that she does not have the $$ to buy drugs. They claim that she rose too quickly to her fame. My question is....don't you think that a crash like that will make her turn to drugs more?



Any thoughts on this?

noone will stop buying her records because her mom asked. And the only crash I see for her lower than where she is now is death. Amy is gonna do what she wants to do. She is young, hasmoney and beleives she is having fun. I was the same way when I was 24 (but you never saw me in a bra outside my house) I just thought I was having fun and not hurting anyone. Well I NOW know that I could've partied a little less, savedsome money and remembered more. But noone could tellme otherwise at that point. I had to figure it out on my own.

Hope fully she will seek help before it is too late for her.

I think it was her MIL who was asking people not to buy her records. This week her mother has come out in the press to say that Amy should get in touch, but the next day her dad came out in the press saying that he didn't understand why that was printed as he sees Amy 5 days a week etc etc...

I don't think the point of her MIL saying that she should be boycotted wasn't about money...it was more about people showing that they thought she was in trouble and that they didn't support her lifestyle. The money has already been made.

I think her albums have already been sold, not buying them won't make any difference to her at all. Its like a car wreck, people buy her stuff and go to see her live just to see her make a fool of herself and basically to be a witness to a disaster.

The only person who can talk someone into not doing drugs or living a destructive lifestyle is themselves. I think she has to want to stop and pull herself together.

Sadly it's a desperate attempt by her parents to help their daughter. They have probably tried everything to help her and this is their last resort.

I don't think anything will phase Amy. If she doesn't get her money from record sales she will find another way to get her drugs.

You won't believe this, but in the UK she is a HUGE fashion Icon. The Winehouse is one of the most requested hairdo's of the year. Its true. At Christmas time I see lots of girls all dressed up with MASSIVE beehives!

Look at how great she looked...I think she is fab. I really like her a lot.

I loved her style. I truly did. I think it is so sad the downward spiral she is on. I cannot imagine being in her family and watching this unfold.....

I doubt that her parents going on worldwide television pleading with her fans is not helping the situation at all. She has an addiction. Fame didn't cause it. If she lost all her $$$$ she would still find a way to get high. She needs professional help.

I HEART the Wino. Love her and her music. She's the only young hot mess of a starlett that I think has legitimate talent!! I wish she could/would clean her act up but as earlier posters said she is the only one that can come to that realization.
