for the leapfrog maracas that were never even opened! how is this nonsense legal?

what? that is craziness! did you have a reciept? honestly, did they have this policy posted somewhere---or on the back of the reciept? i'd have pitched a MAJOR fit.
it gets me so angry that i love the store so much and yet they are doing stoopid things like this!

They do have restocking fees but it's usually on electronics and posted on the board on the wall of the customer service.
Is this a "software"? They may be considered as electronics.

no receipt. It was a gift that I had gotten in FL from SIL...she said she would look for it, but wasn't able to find it.
they have it posted that some items will be charged a fee. It came up when the toy was scanned.
between this nonsense and the recalls, next year everyone is getting a stock.

Was that for a gift? I'm wondering if they're going to charge people I gave gifts to if they return them. I'd be EXTREMELY annoyed if that were the case.

I returned the alphabet drum (I think it was leapfrog too) yesterday and wasn't charged a restocking fee.
That would annoy me enough that I'd call Target customer service.
ETA: I didn't have a receipt either.

Since their policy is no returns without a receipt, I guess I would be happy they took them back and I lost $2 in store credit. The restocking fee doesn't make much sense though since the item isn't a true "electronic"
I love Target, I find great deals there. I know to just save my receipt or pay with a debit/credit card so they can look up my receipt if I lost it.

returning things nowadays has become nearly impossible. I guess you just have to be grateful they took it back at all!! or try BRU next time - right now they are the best place for returns as long as they carry it.

I remember when Circuit City implemented a restocking fee - people went crazy.
What's the point of the restocking fee? I didn't understand it then, and I don't understand it now! It's not like the companies are losing $$.

They do charge a restocking fee on electronics now, so maybe that was considered an electronic , however the girl at customer service told me that they cannot charge a re-stocking fee on something that isn't working properly as they will not be re-stocking a broken item

I tried to do an even exchange yesterday and they wouldn't even let me do that without a receipt. I think they have gotten ridiculous. The week of xmas who really has a receipt for every purchase or gift.
