Tattoo and Pain Question...
I am really thinking about getting a tattoo of something (have no idea what) on my inner ankle.
Honestly, how painful is it?

Re: Tattoo and Pain Question...
I would equate it to taking a pin and scratching your skin with it. Maybe a just a bit more.
It's really an individual thing...
I have tattoos on my ankle, lower back/spine and hip and didn't think any of them was terribly unbearable.

I agree...
I usually describe it to people by pinching the skin with your natural nails over and over again. I have 5 tattoos and didn't find any of them "painful"...it got annoying with one of them...but that's because it took almost 3 hours.

Re: Tattoo and Pain Question...
I think it feels like a sunburn. Getting a shot at the Dr's is worse.
A friend of mine got her first tattoo this weekend. She faints at the sight of blood and needles... she was a trooper... she said that there was a fine line between pleasure and pain and she totally sees why people are addicted.

Re: Tattoo and Pain Question...
honestly, to me it feels like getting an indian burn (remember from when you were younger?)
I would not say it is painful, more like an annoying feeling...some parts will hurt more than others....

Re: Tattoo and Pain Question...
I am a HUGE baby and didn't think it was too bad. If it was - I would have ended up with a couple of lines instead of my tatoo. If you really want to - go do it. A good tatoo place will give you a break if you need it, no matter how small the tatoo is. Good luck.

That's EXACTLY what I was going to say. It's just an annoyance.

Re: Tattoo and Pain Question...
on the ankle i have no idea... mine on my leg is about 1 to 2 inches above the ankle and no pain ... but then again except for the ankle one(because it's just 3 letters) i fall asleep while getting them.
