No, but some friends of mine who live in Texas are. I didn't know what it was until they started talking about it on the news.

It was! News 12 even showed up, which was nice to finally have some media coverage. These tea parties have been planned nationwide since February but not many even heard about them until today. This is because the movement was started Glenn Beck, but there wasn't just republicans and conservatives there! This was a non-partisan movement to show that the money being spent by the government is not supported by the little people who have to pay for it.

To the poster about CNN. The best part about the whole thing was seeing black and spanish people honking their horns and giving us the thumbs up! They got it! This was not about Obama or race or some "radical right extremists". It was about people feeling helpless in the decisions being made by the government as whole and the feeling that our country is moving in a direction that will affect the future of our grand children. What I got from it was that I am Definitely not alone =)

Re: Tax Day Tea Party

I was at the hicksville one.

Everyody loves to make it a race thing, but everyone feels the burdens of rising taxes and the rising cost of living.

Re: Tax Day Tea Party

There was one at the Hauppauge H. Lee Dennison building. There was a fender-bender being resolved (with the police) directly in front of the protesters.....
