Tax experts
dh realized we both never changed our filing status with the payroll department once we got married. is it benefical i we file single or married on our paychecks

With single, your withholdings are higher which means a bigger refund (or lower amount due if you owe).

correct, married/zero would give you a smaller refund then single/zero.
