Tax Question - 1099 form
Does anyone get a 1099 instead of a W-2? Part of my income this year is on a 1099, i'm being told that with a 1099, I can write off a lot more against it? is that true?

yep, me too. You have to file a schedule C though in addition to the 1040 form.
careful with your write-offs though. the IRS tends to be auditing more of them.

This is true. The IRS is more likely to audit a Sched C filer than someone with just W-2's. So just be careful and don't go crazy with the deductions.
