Tax Question - Value of Donated Items?

DH and I donated pretty much an entire apartment's worth of furniture to a local charity last year. The charity sent us a list of the items it received, but without a dollar amount. I know what I paid for the items, but does anyone know how should I value them when doing our taxes? Thanks!

If it helps...Salvation Army has a valuation list on their website that you could use - use the higher numbers. Keep a copy with your taxes in case you are questioned on how you arrived at the value.

Just so you know, you're not required to use their list. I always go a little higher

Our accountant gave us this list also. he said it's just a guide, and that we're the best judges of the conditions of the stuff we're donating regarding prices.
