tax question about the house

ok so this is my first offical post on the home board... and i am a little worried about the tax season. keith always delt with this stuff and i have no clue what paper work i need for the house for when i go to do my tax return. i have yet to recieve anything Chat Icon can you please tell me what i should be getting? thanksChat Icon

you will geta statement from your mortgage co. I just got mine on Friday. It will tell youthe amt you paid in interest and this is a number that goes inot your tax form. No biggie!Chat Icon

If you don't have a mortgage and you pay your taxes directly to the town, you should receive a bill showing the property taxes you paid in 2006. That gets entered into your return.

I'm not sure what you mean by "home owners" - do you live in a home owners association? If you pay your taxes through an association then they may be the ones the should provide the tax statement.

I believe, by law, you should have all necessary tax documentation delivered to your home by 1/31/07.

Taxes & Homeowner's Insurance are two different things. No need to bring anything that deals with HO Insurance for your taxes.

Taxes & Homeowner's Insurance are two different things. No need to bring anything that deals with HO Insurance for your taxes.
