TEACCH Method
How do you incorporate this into your classroom? Can you give me a synopsis in your point of view of what it is? I have just heard of this method and before I read the entire website devoted to it, I want to get an explanation from those who already know about it.
Basically, can someone give me the laymans explanation

Re: TEACCH Method
Do you teach a self contained class? I teach a 6:1:1 class and use TEACCH but not exactly by the book. I use visual schedules, workstations, and color coding. Basically each student is assigned a color so for instance Bobby is red. So his schedule will go on the red cubby door, his workstation bins will be red, his folders, transition cue, etc. I also use workstations where the students work on 4 bins of tasks. Some vocational type tasks and worksheets. These would be things they can complete independently. I could keep going but let me know if you have any specific questions!

Thank you for responding!!!
Do you mind sharig your vocational tasks & what kind of worksheets you are using in the bins?
I don't teach a self contained class, but I am sending my resume in for a position where the principal loves this method so I am familiarizing myself with it!
