Teacher/Day care provider gifts..
what are you doing? How much do you spend. Ds has 1 teacher and 2 aides. This is my first time doing this and I'm kind of lost.

Re: Teacher/Day care provider gifts..
DS has two teachers- I am getting them each a $50 AMEX gift card. DD has 2 teachers and a teacher from an older classroom who helps out in the infant room two mornings a week. The two main teachers will get the same as DS' teachers, the other woman is getting a $25 AMEX. I also plan on getting an edible arrangement to be put in the staff room for everyone to snack on.

WOW, that is kind. I actually went to Sam's Club, and they had nice gift sets. They are $20 and you get a set of 4 items, such as nice cocoa mugs, candles, and bath items.

That's a great idea! DS has too many teachers and it really starts to add up. I was thinking a $30 gc to target for his two teachers along with a side gift (like the coco or something) and then for the younger floaters something from Bath and Body. What about the Director? Are you getting that person something? Boy, this adds up.

If you have a lot of teachers to buy for another suggestion would be to send in food. My girls love getting a free meal.

Last year I did personalized note cards from etsy vendor freckles and speckles and a accessory scarf, not a heavy winter one, you know, the kind you wear with a t-shirt.

My son's classroom has 2 main teachers - and then the director helps out in there once in a while, too. Do I get the director a gift too?

I dont get the director a gift per se, I also bring a basket of food in, cookies or something for the rest of the staff to enjoy, like the lunch lady, the director, all the people who help in the day to day but arent my sons direct caregivers.

Re: Teacher/Day care provider gifts..
WOW! I was planning on spending like 15$ a teacher. I never imagined that I would spend 50$ and then food. For us, the director is the owner. I am not getting her a gift. I give her a gift every month. Geez.... I guess I just never thought. I work in special ed and the most I have EVER gotten is a little ornament or a lotion. And usually I get gifts from less than 2 or 3 of my 27 students. No one in my school ever gets more than a few gifts.
Geez. I guess I need to start thinking about what I want to get them!

Re: Teacher/Day care provider gifts..
i got them big land's end totes trimmed in patent leather. they are normally $50 each but there was a one day sale on them for $10 each with free shipping. I plan to include a gift card with each or send in something nice for them to eat. Not sure which, but I really want to take care of them. It is a small in home place and they are like family now, plus they take such excellent care of DD.
they are pretty big
plus, they are on sale right now for $15, not sure of shipping: land's end totes

Re: Teacher/Day care provider gifts..
Also check out the sales on Vera Bradley. Sometimes you can get their pricey items for super cheap. If you have younger girls, they would love a wristlet.
ETA: Vera Bradley has their small Tic Tac Tote on sale for $19 marked down from $55 for 3 days. They offer it in 3 patterns. I think I am going to order some.

Re: Teacher/Day care provider gifts..
I think I am giving $50 to 5 teachers and $20 to the director. I may decide that I am broke and drop it down to $30 though!

Re: Teacher/Day care provider gifts..
I bought some gifts on Etsy too! Sounds like others have the same idea. I also sell on Etsy. Anyone interested let me know and I'd be happy to give you a discount. Have a sale this weekend.
As for amounts, I'm new at this. Matteo just started in a 3 year old class 3 days a week this fall. I got handmade mini bags to put in your pocketbook and was thinking of putting a pair of earrings inside each. Also got some Ghirardelli chocolates at TJ Maxx!
