I"m taking a Valerie Rowe class on Wed. evenings at Woodland MS in East Meadow (I'm in the district). I've heard very good things about her.

I'm a speech-language pathologist-elementary. Absolutely everyone says Valerie Rowe is easy. This class is something like "Experiential Learning Through Live Events". It's offered on Wed. evenings. Maybe I'll see you there!

From NYSUT: This course prepares participants to incorporate live events (real-life experiences with real consequences, life skills, active participation, sensory involvement, debriefing, and emotion) into their curriculum. Research demonstrates that learning through live events helps students internalize content at a high rate and increases retention of content. Participants experience the differences between teaching, facilitating, and facilitative leadership and how facilitation promotes student problem-solving and decision-making.
