Teachers I could use your opinion
Is it possible for a person to be learning disabled in one subject? For example always struggled in math but aced every other subject. But with math, takes a lot more time to solve problems and often has to come up with a different way to solve a problem....

absolutely! Just like a child can be gifted in one subject, and have a disability in another.
Never a dull moment!

Re: Teachers I could use your opinion
Thank you!!
I think that could be what I have It's so embarrassing. I always did excellent except with the exception of math....I read that description and that sounds like me except for the last paragraph with confusing numbers and letters.
Is there anything I can do to improve this?

Learning disabilities are done by category. They could have an LD in Math and be fine elsewhere.

There is also what is known as twice exceptional. This is when someone is gifted in one area, but possibly LD in another area.

Re: Teachers I could use your opinion
When I was in middle school, I was booted out of the gifted and talented program because I started pulling Ds in math.
I just never got it. To this day, anything above pre-algebra makes my palms a little sweaty.
I was always a reader and writer. Math just doesn't jive with me. It's totally possible!
