Teachers of tomorrow!
Are any of you NYC DOE teachers? The city offers a thing called teachers of tomorrow if you teach in a low income school and you are a new teacher. It's supposed to help pay for school like the fellows program does. (if you are a fellow you cant get it.)
Well I called up yesterday to see where the check is and they said they are doing direct deposit this year and it will take a little longer. So those of you stressing that you didn't get it yet you will shortly directly in your bank account!!

hmm? As far as I know, Teachers Choice is money that ALL NYC teachers get (old and new) to pay for materials for the classroom... This year it's $150.
Are you sure this program is also called "Teachers Choice"? Seems weird to me that the DOE would choose the same name for 2 different programs.... oh no wait.... Nothing the DOE would do could surprise me anymore!

You are talking about the Teachers of Tomorrow Grant, not Teacher's Choice. Totally different things.
You have to apply for TOT your first year of teaching. Only certain schools qualify and it is for 4 years.

I edited it but it didnt edit. I meant teachers of tomorrow sorry! I know how it works I am in the program. I just figured if someone on here was waiting for their money then this may help!
