Teachers, resume Q again....thanks
Thanks for all the help so far -
Did you include your references on the resume?
I've rec'd a lot of return emails for Rich's resume, requesting references and a copy of his certification.
Should I just automatically include the references, to speed up the process, or is that a big no-no?
Thanks a bunch

Re: Teachers, resume Q again....thanks
It was a while ago in the pre-online days, but I used to mail 2 letters of recommendation with my resume and cover letter. Don't know if it made a difference. I also had a professor who suggested that instead of "references available upon request" we use the names, titles and phone numbers of 2-3 references. I think that's what I'd do now.
Honestly, I'd be lost if I had to job hunt now. It's all very different!

ok - thank you. This is what I did.
I added the names, addresses and phone #s of 4 references (2 pricipals, an assistant superintendent, and his cooperating teacher from student teaching), and on the bottom of that page, attached a .jpg of his NYS Certificate.
I'm just worried....the resume and cover letter together is 5 pages. I've always been told to keep resumes short and sweet, and we DID - he just has a lot of experience in different schools, so I had to list them separately.
I just don't want to screw this up for him

Re: Teachers, resume Q again....thanks
I mailed out resumes with 3 letters of recommendations and a photo copy of my certification. I just felt that if they had all the info right there they might call for an interview. Just a tip...last summer I was so tired of sending out hundreds of resumes and doing all those online applications and I was only getting called for sub jobs....so in august I put on a suit every day and dropped off resumes to schools and administration offices. I got quite a few interviews from that and I ended up getting 3 different job offers.
Good Luck!!!

I created a seperate page just for references and when asked, I would give the page to whomever asked.

this is a great idea - We'll see how things go from not until June, and if he hasn't received calls, he'll probably do the same thing.
