I am thinking of a creative way to tell my 2nd grade class that I am pregnant. Any ideas?

Re: teachers that are pregnant
Well, I teach the other extreme... high school. I started to show early... well, I really looked just fat at that point. I told them at 10 weeks because the rumors were flying around the school nothing more gossipy than a high school (and the adults are the worst).
I wasn't very creative just, "I'm, not getting fat I'm actually pregnant... oh, and it's twins" Many of the kids were and
ETA: Can you read a book that has a pregnant mom it it or better yet a pregnant teacher?

Yeah, I'm a high school teacher too...at an all-girls' school no less. Oh, the scrutiny! First time around they all "knew" before I could tell them (at 13 weeks). This time, I'd better get moving quickly...I look now at almost 8 weeks like I did at 12 last time!
No suggestions, but good luck!!

Re: teachers that are pregnant
I taught second grade when I was pregnant. At the end of the day we played hangman. My saying was: Mrs. ______ is going to have a baby! They didn't get it until the very end...when they finally understood, they were jumping out of their seat screaming. It was the funniest thing ever.

I'm not pregnant, but I am a teacher.
Have you heard of the book "Our Teacher is Having a Baby" by Eve Bunting? Maybe you can read that w/o any explanation and see how long it takes for the kids catch on!

Re: teachers that are pregnant
I teach fifth grade and they pretty much knew even before I told them. So I never really had the opportunity to do something cute and creative. I like the book idea and the hang man. I think that 2nd graders would love the game.

Re: teachers that are pregnant
I made a word search on puzzlemaker.com. I used all school words like chalk, crayons etc.....they all the letters that were left spelled out that Mrs. so and so....is having a baby. I teach 5th grade and they LOVED it. My girls were so into my pregnancy the whole year. Good luck!
