Teachers that tutor privately . . . .
Just out of curiousity, what do you charge? I would like to start tutoring but am not sure how much is the "going" rate.

Re: Teachers that tutor privately . . . .
our home tutors get paid $42 through the district, so I would say anywhere from$ 50-60 an hour.

Re: Teachers that tutor privately . . . .
I was thinking of doing that too Brianne, especially start advertising and trying to tutor in the Wilson Reading Program.

Yes, I wanted to advertise too. You will do great with Wilson- you are lucky to have that background!

Yes, and tutors that specialize in SAT or any of the AP classes usually get $100 or plus that in some areas.

I charge 40 an hour, however, I tutor math and I am not a certified math teacher. My sister, who is certified, charges 50-60.
