teaching kids to "try it" pays off... at least, this time
as we all know, kids don't always like to try new foods.
i have made it a point to have my son try things. he doesn't have to like it, he doesn't have to eat it all, he just has to try it. always been a rule.
so... today, i decided to try the weight watchers brownies recipe
*take a box of brownie mix *take a can of black beans... put in blender *add black bean mush to mix, bake as usual
so ds wants brownies and when he sees me get the can of black beans, he tells me i'm crazy. i reminded him about trying it.
blend beans, add to mix, stir. ds asks to taste it... i thought he would be so turned off by the thought... the young man licked the bowl! and loved it!
now he's counting the seconds for it to come out of the oven!!
seems like we'll be having healthy brownies tonight for when we watch dancing with the stars

That does sound like an interesting combination though
