Team green mommies to be, lets post some nursery ideas/color schemes

i must say i do get a little envious of the gender specific nurseries i see!! they look so cute!!
that is def. the hard part about being on team green- the neutral nursery...

anyhow, post some stuff!!

what color paint?
what bedding? or do you plan on exchanging once baby arrives?
what color crib furniture?

I registered for girl and boy bedding. I wasn't too crazy about any of the gender neutral stuff! We're officially moving to NC in July/August of 09 so we're not even thinking of a nursery right now, since we'll all be in a one bedroom apt until we move!

I am looking at alot of geometric/modern looking type bedding and decor.

The nursery was painted a mocha brown when we moved in and we dont want to repaint it so we will just add white/green/ or yellow bedding and accessories.

DH and I arent reallly into cartoon animals and themes like that anyway.

Ok, well this is the room that we are converting to the nursery-- it's changed a little since these pics, but you get the idea. We are keeping the paint color, and a lot of the same furniture-- but getting rid of some things.

After I give birth, we'll get the appropriate rug, wall hangings and other decor items. I'd also like to get a slip cover for the love seat.

Here is a link to my post with my crib and boy and girl bedding options. Click

Right now, the office which will be converted into the nursery is a sage green. since we just painted the room this past March, we decided to keep it as is b.c it totally works for a neutral nursery.

so our color scheme will be sage and ecru.

Here is the bedding i registered for and coincidentally the room color in the pic is a lighter version of what we have in the room:

External Image

the bedding is actually a lot cuter in person and REALLY soft!! it's organic.

not sure what color crib furniture to do.. beige light wood( like the crib featured with the bedding) or a cherry wood.
here are some crib furniture colors i like:

a swatch of the maple color:

cherry wood:

Since we are having a boy and a girl, we are doing a gender neutral nursery in green, brown, and tan.

We decided not to register for bedding, decided it was a waste, but we are getting accesories (valance, lamp, decorations) that match a bedding set called Jungle Babies by NoJo.

ETA: the furniture will be an espresso color.

Re: Team green mommies to be, lets post some nursery ideas/color schemes

we haven't decided if we're finding out yet, but we're going to do a "gender neutral" nursery either way as neither of us are a fan of strictly "boy" or "girl" things. we'll probably do dark woods and browns with green as that seems to be a trend on our tastes. =0) i'll probably throw in a whole bunch of colors with the accessories we add too.

of course this is all depending on whether or not we actually GET a nursery. right now we're in a one bedroom. Chat Icon

Our bedding set arrived a week or two ago. Chat Icon This is the one we chose:

I'm not sure what color nursery we'll do. It will either be a light beige or cream color or we may do a light green like BM Kittery Point Green.

We ordered the Munire Majestic crib set, but in a cherry color:

Re: Team green mommies to be, lets post some nursery ideas/color schemes

Im not finding out the sex so i am buying a girl bedding and a boy bedding, painting the room off white on top, a chair rail and then DH will either paint the bottom half navy or light pink after baby comes.

Im not into mint green or yellow or any of the gender neutral bedding.

Re: Team green mommies to be, lets post some nursery ideas/color schemes

were doing our nursery baby neutral... sort of retro mod!

the walls will be beige on top, thick stripe of chocolate brown and the bottom will be a tangerine orange color. The bedding will be chocolate brown and white (were just getting sheets and the crib skirt from PBK).

curtains will be chocolate brown with white polka dots and we will pick a rug once baby is born. This way we can jazz it up a bit. We havent found any gender neutral rug that we like..

Is that the Hug Me bedding?

We have the pack n play and the swing. LOVE both of them. Didnt get the bedding. But the pack n play and swing are really soft as well. They wash very nice too.

I registered for a girl and a boy set. People might not want to buy either, but at least I could get the discount afterwards if it's on my registry

Re: Team green mommies to be, lets post some nursery ideas/color schemes

For our first child, we painted the room a cream color (malted milk) and have a cottage green rug. We went with a neutral green teddy bear them. A big part of the bedding was gingham check; my mom made it for us.

Not sure what we are doing with baby #2. I actually could use some opinions....is it weird to use the same bedding in the beginning???

I'm doing the same and my mother knows to buy it after this baby makes his/her appearance.

the room is already painted a light green and is staying that color
