Ridiculous. . .
At least she'll still have some dignity, poor woman.

Re: Teddy Bear Teacher in Sudan Sentenced
unreal!
there was an article a few days ago about a 19 yr old woman in Saudi Arabia who was gang raped and SHE is the one who was punished! she was forced to confess to indecent sexual acts or something like that and got several lashes

human rights are pretty absent from that part of the world IMO, westerners should just not go over there.... no matter how well-intentioned the person, they'll end up tripping up on something stupid and end up like this poor teacher.
no good deed goes unpunished...

these extremists are cowards who hide behind their religion to justify such disgusting and inhuman cruelty! I would LOVE just ONCE for them to be challenged by the UN or anyone!

well, extremists are just that..... there's no population more rigid and hardwired than an extremist... so I doubt they will ever change. The best the rest of the world can do is prevent the spread of institutionalized (such as in gov'ts) fundamentalist extremists. Once a country is gone, it's way gone. It can only change from within.... with moderate groups arising within the population. UN, and other nations can do nothing as long as the people want to live that way.
