Teen Charged With Vomiting On Teacher
OLATHE, Kan. -- A Kansas student faces a misdemeanor charge after throwing up on his Spanish teacher on the last day of school.
Johnson County, Kan., prosecutors have charged the boy with battery against a school teacher, and ordered him to juvenile court on July 1.
The boy's father said he believes what his son told him -- that the stress of final exams made him ill.
But the boy's teacher at Olathe Northwest, David Young, called the youngster's actions "outrageous," and said he's pleased with the support he's received.

I don't know what I would have done, I've had to deal with kids who have thrown up in my classroom and it's tough to not toss my lunch too, just from the fact of it.

Re: Teen Charged With Vomiting On Teacher
I am guessing there is something more to the story? Does the teacher have reason to believe that he somehow did it on purpose? Does the student have a history of poor behavior? I don't get it based on the info. provided in that article.

Re: Teen Charged With Vomiting On Teacher
After being with high school kids for three years, I can believe that a kid would do it on purpose, if that is what it turns out to be. Some of them are extremely vindictive and don't think about the consequences of their actions--or they could have just thought of it as "funny".
If someone threw up on me, I'd probably throw right back up on them!!!
What if the teacher threw up on the kid? What kind of hoopla would there be from the parent?
"Hello, Mrs Jones? This is Principal Smith... um... Mrs. Doe just threw up on little Johnny..."

Re: Teen Charged With Vomiting On Teacher
Well, I'm thinking of one class in particular ... the girl that teaches it is nice as can be, but the kids are really a bad mix. They are either 1) special ed and have a learning disability and needed an extra year of the class 2) failed because they didn't do their work or care enough to do anything. It is a nightmare class... I feel so bad for the teacher--32 kids, most special ed, and quite a few Emotionally troubled kids. Most of the kids are nasty, perverted, sneaky, and seek out ways to hurt each other and the teacher.
It's not even that they hate her--she's a very likable person--the other classes love her--but this particular class just happens to have all of the worst kids in the school in it.
I pray that I don't have to teach a section of that again. The teachers in my dept trade off--so we don't have to do it two years in a row.
