She takes care of her daughters and has always been a good mom to them. Her and Corey (her ex) are friends and get along good. He evengets along good with her fiance.
Compared to Amber and Jenelle I'll say she is much better a mom then these two. At least she still has custody and puts them first on her list of priorities. Amber and Jenell know nothing but themselves on that list.
She sure isn't doing herself any favors by getting married again at such a young age. Then again, she comes from a small town and its more common to get married young then in big city areas.

And if you were comparing to "back in the old days", my mom had 3 kids by the time she was 22. She & my dad did pretty well for themselves.
my mom got pregnant at 16 with the person she lost her virginity to, my dad, she marries, while pregnant at 16 and then she had me at 19...she worked her butt off...took classes to get herself a good job, maintained their own apartment and paid their bills. Things didn't work out between her and my dad but after over 25 years separated they are still best friends and always were united in their love and care for us. She was and still is a great mom, despite the hardships she went through and even the mistakes she may have made while raising us. I did not wind up a pregnant teen simply because my mom did...but if I had...my mom was a role model of TAKING RESPONSIBILITY.

Seriously... Older? She is 20 and already divorced and it took her 2 seconds to get remarried and now she is knocked up again. After all she went through Teen Pregnancy, losing her pregnancy, getting divorced... A mature person wouldn't jump into another marriage and get knocked up again. They would slow it down and take life a little slower.

um wow, yes...you're right...I could avoid this one since I owe you no explanation...but I'll accept it.
I was drinking and smoking weed from the time I was about 15 to ecstacy and other drugs from 17 to about 18. I don't see how that's my moms fault. These are things I even did when I was supposed to be in school while she worked her full time job. This was fairly the norm for many kids at school, not just me. Acid and ecstacy was big then...especially on LI. Go figure. my mom moved me here bc she wanted better for me yet this is where i was introduced to drugs. (I should also mention I engaged in drug use in social settings...not like I was a drug addict on the corner looking for my next score) I'll be 30 this december so...that was a long time ago. I think you may be a bit naive in thinking its bad parenting that gets kids into drugs. My parents had very frank conversations with me warning me about drugs...they were honest and open with me. In fact...most of my youth I was grounded...but when your parents work full time jobs its easy to sneak around. I was the type of kid who needed to experience it for myself. I couldn't just take someones word for it...nothing to do with my parents.
I don't see why your comment was relevant. I actually think it's pretty sad that you have my quotes on hand. Do you keep LIF indexed for future reference? Gosh...I feel bad for you. Anyway whatever...this post wasn't to attack you for your comment so I'll stop right there...but if you have kids...I pray to god they NEVER defy you and listen to every word you say because if they don't i'm afraid the pretty little world you live in where kids do as their parents tell them to might just fall apart.

I cant believe people are defending Teen Pregnancies and mariage.
Having a kid as a teen and staying married to the father and making it is NOT the norm. Statistic show that these girls are setting themselves up for failure. Idc how many success stories, how many mothers, grandmothers aunt sisters mother had a kid young and turned out great. I will never codone it, glorify it or agree with it. I dont have a daughter but it is definitely something I would NEVER want for my daughter. I pray that my son does not bring me home some knocked up chick at a young age when he hasnt even finished HS. Drugs are my second fear. Having a child is hard regardless and no matter how together you think your sh!t is why make it more difficult.
my mom was pregnant as teen by her first blah blah, my childhood was sad. I turned out pretty good but that doesnt mean I think its ok.
I think Leah seems to be a pretty good mom but im sorry getting pregnant again so early to me is irresponsible. Whats the rush???

It was probably out of line, I know it was a low blow but I can't stand opening the posts about obvious train wrecks and seeing MrsMeloyellow's defense and justification of them. I don't keep the posts on file, it was a 2 second search of my own posts where she got into it with me about another issue. I also just read where she went off in an instant on someone for making gay slurs when they obviously weren't.
I just can't take her posts... sorry but that is just how I feel.
Why make teen pregnancy and young marriages and divorces sound like its perfectly ok?

And if you were comparing to "back in the old days", my mom had 3 kids by the time she was 22. She & my dad did pretty well for themselves.
my mom got pregnant at 16 with the person she lost her virginity to, my dad, she marries, while pregnant at 16 and then she had me at 19...she worked her butt off...took classes to get herself a good job, maintained their own apartment and paid their bills. Things didn't work out between her and my dad but after over 25 years separated they are still best friends and always were united in their love and care for us. She was and still is a great mom, despite the hardships she went through and even the mistakes she may have made while raising us. I did not wind up a pregnant teen simply because my mom did...but if I had...my mom was a role model of TAKING RESPONSIBILITY.

I've done my fair share of drugs back in my "raver" days. I barely even drink now...since years before my son. My son is my world and I know I'm a good mom.
Holy shit, seriously? My Mom had 6 kids, YES 6 by the time she was 34 years old. Got her Masters when she was 50, supported us and was an AMAZING mother. And you know what? I did a SHIT LOAD of drugs in my day when I was going to Tunnel, Sound Factory, etc. And now at 35 my husband and I have the world by the balls.
My Mom's friend? The one who had her kids in her late 20's, and never touched a drug in her life, and neither did her kids? Well, her daughter threw herself in front of an A train 2 weeks after her graduation from St. John's University. Because "she couldn't handle the pressure of school and finding a job and didn't have anyone that loved her".
I rest my case.

It was probably out of line, I know it was a low blow but I can't stand opening the posts about obvious train wrecks and seeing MrsMeloyellow's defense and justification of them. I don't keep the posts on file, it was a 2 second search of my own posts where she got into it with me about another issue. I also just read where she went off in an instant on someone for making gay slurs when they obviously weren't.
I just can't take her posts... sorry but that is just how I feel.
Why make teen pregnancy and young marriages and divorces sound like its perfectly ok?
So because you disagree with me on my stance about not judging people when it comes to things they do in their youth, and about people deserving second chances you tried to use a comment where I opened up about my past "indiscretions" against me? I hope it made you feel real good about yourself.
Just so you know...I'm proud of who I am. Which is why I'm very open about my life, EVERY part of it...not just the parts that make me look good to people like you. I have no shame...everything that I did in my life led me to today and I LOVE who I am today. I think your comment showed a really ugly side of you and I'd rather make the "mistakes" i've made in my life ten times over than become a nasty hard hearted person like you just displayed

wow...your story is exactly why i feel the way I do.
Back in the day people got married alot younger too...as times changed society put more emphasis on education and career before starting a family...but it wasn't always that way. Who cares...choose whats best for you...but don't put cast your judgement on someone else because they took the other road. I'm not saying every decision she's made is the perfect choice...but it's hers to make and I don't think choosing to start a family sooner (while it may not have been the original plan) is something that warrants damnation as long as she is handling her business, taking care of her kids and happy

I have made mistakes in my life, I am not perfect, no one is. I think my issue is that I have learned from the wrongs I have seen and witnessed and I learn from them. I too know people that had children too young. Many of these are people who I have volunteered with. All of them will tell you how hard it was and how they wouldn’t wish it on anyone. They help show others that it is better to be safe and wait until you are more prepared to be a parent.
I have an issue with the casual way people look at drug use too. It is not ok to be a social druggie. I think our children deserve and better safer future that what is being presented to them as ok. I don’t want to read another story about a life lost too early. It breaks my heart.

never said it was a great idea...never even got into her marriages or divorce...thats her business...my point was really more directed at her motherhood, since that was the point of this thread. I think only the woman can decide when she is ready to bare children. does 16 seem young? of course...but thats already done...20...not so bad...nor is it my place to judge. Who knows from the photo i saw of her shopping in NYC shopping at high end stores she probably is financially better off than me! and as for her parenting...I have never seen her not be a good mom...so the immaturity arguement doesn't seem to apply to her ability to parent.

I have never and will never glamorize social drug use. I'm well aware the story of my youth could have been ended abruptly by doing the things I did..but it didn't and I grew up, I matured and gained a new set of responsibilities. Not everyone follows the same path, not everyone is perfect, not everyone does everything "by the book" but when you can make the most of those differences, adversities, mistakes and what have you...it's such an amazing growth point in life.
I know being 16 and pregnant wasn't easy for my mom and i know she didn't wish that for us...but if she hadn't gotten pregnant at 16 and 19...my sister and I wouldn't be here...and maybe if i didn't experience what i did...maybe I wouldnt have met my husband or have my amazing son.
life is too short to have to worry about fitting into someone elses guidelines of what the right and wrong way to live your life is. had she been a bad mother my tune would be much different.
I'm sorry you take such offense to my views.
