Teeth Grinding..
I'm 29 years old and I've picked up a new habit.. W T F?!
I catch myself grinding my teeth through-out the day. And if I'm catching myself during the day, god knows what i'm doing while I'm asleep!
I don't want to file down my teeth with all this grinding.. how do I stop?!
I swear this started maybe 3 weeks ago.. I've never been a grinder!!

you can either buy an otc bite guard or go the dentist and get one custom made.

My mother told me to wear a mouth gaurd while i sleep... NOT HAPPENING! Nor am I wearing it during the day to stop that grinding..lol

i do it all night long - the dentist yells at me, but the only thing that they'll do for it is give me a mouthguard to wear at night. The mouthguard lasts me about 1 hour - I always rip it out of my mouth in my sleep.
I always know when I've been grinding because wake up with a headache and my whole jaw hurts. My back teeth have been ground down a lot because of it.
Sorry - the only thing I know is that the Dr said it's caused by stress.

I had a custom one made. I do it a lot when I am stressed, it's really bad. I wake up banging my teeth together. With the guard I had made, it stops me from doing it. It literally is a life saver for me.

at night. i have to. i have woken up with chipped teeth. i also noticed that my jaw hurts less and not as many migraines if i wear it at night.

Why not? If it's a habit you want to stop, why wouldn't you take the most rational step to help prevent it?

I also have that I got from the dentist. As I was half asleep one morning I must have ground my teeth all night & I suddenly heard my tooth crack. Had to go & get it fixed & get a guard made.
I have noticed that my jaw doesn't hurt as much & my migraines have decreased.
