Teething at almost 4 months???

My DD is almost 4 months old (she will be 4 months on Sept. 10). Well she is drooling, biting on everything and when we feed her she runs the nipple across her gums. Plus, she is very fussy and last night her temp was 99.7 and today it 98.9.
My Dad was up from Fla. this weekend and he said "you started teething at 4 months and it lasted until you were 11 months". I was like Chat Icon .
Did anyone else's DC start teething this early???

How did you handle it? I mean, did you give tylenol, ambosol, or anything else to relieve the pain?

It is possible to start teething that early.

However, what you described is exactly what my DD has been going through for the past few months. My doctor says you only "teeth" for about a week before you can see the tooth. The rest of the symptoms are just being a baby. DD has been drooling for weeks now! She always wears a bib. She loves to suck- the pacifier, the breast- anything.

I think those are just "symptoms"
of being a baby. As my doctor said, you don't know they are teething, until that first tooth pops out.

Ok. She has never done this stuff before and I thought that the slight fever was a sure sign that it was teething. I will be on the lookout for teeth! Chat Icon

Caiden had his 2 lower teeth before he was 4 months! Then he had at least 8 teeth by the time he was 8 months old! Definitely possible! Chat Icon

WOW! Did you take him to a pediatric dentist? When did you start dental care?

Brendan had 2 teeth by 4 months and now at 5 1/2 months he has 5 teeth! He got 3 teeth last week! Chat Icon He started drooling like crazy and mouthing everything by 2 months old, but his first teeth didn't come in for almost another 2 months. Once I could feel a bump on his gums the tooth popped through within a week. When it's really close to breaking through you will see a white spot on the gums where the tooth is.

Re: Teething at almost 4 months???

I thought for sure DD would have cut a tooth already because she has been doing the same things for about the past month. She was 4 months old last week. So far, no sign of any little buggers though. Honestly though, I just don't think she has been "miserable enough" to be teething yet. I guess this behavior is just part of being a baby.

Christopher started around 4 months, but didn't officially cut a tooth until he was 6 months, though it's definitely possible to cut one that early.
