teething or sick?
Two times now I thought my DD had a cold, brought her to the ped and was told it was teething. She just started cutting teeth in the past month.
The past two days she has been cranky, crying a lot, not sleeping or eating well. Running nose, some sneezing....lots of putting things in her mouth.
So I assume this is teeth...until this morning. She just sneezed and I went to wipe her nose and I notice there was a tinge of yellow now. Her nose isn't running 100% clear anymore.
Does this warrant a call to the ped?

Re: teething or sick?
You can call them if it's going to make you feel better... but this is STEREOTYPICAL my DD when she's teething - i think it gets yellow tinged from the milk and/or food she has eaten.

same here no fever...thank goodness!
I guess I will keep her inside today, and try to keep her hydrated. She seems tired today too. Doesn't really want to run around and play. So unlike her!

Re: teething or sick?
My DS was very snotty and pulling on his ears the past 2 weeks. We had our checkup on Monday and I thought the doc might tell us he had an ear infection, but he was fine. It might just be the teething.
as someone else said, if he doesn't have a fever, I usually don't worry too much about it.

Re: teething or sick?
Rylan is teething...his first is coming through and his nose has been a faucet the past week. At first I thought it was allergies but then I noticed the tooth.

Re: teething or sick?
If she doesn't have a fever, I would think it was teething. Poor thing! Hope she feels better soon!

Re: teething or sick?
DS gets stuffy and pulls at his ears a lot when teething, so it's hard to tell when he's sick and well at times. Last week though, he started out with the ear pulling and nose rubbing. Then we noticed his nose was actively running (which it doesn't when he's just teething). He also had a low grade fever and just didn't seem like himself, slept a lot. We decided he had a cold at some point, but he never seemed sick enough to warrent a doctor's office call to me.
Call your doctor though if you are worried. It is very hard to tell the two apart, I know. I guess as I said, the tipoff for us was the freely running nose and the listlessness. He's still very active when he's teething, just cranky.
