Teething Symptoms...

DS's hands are constantly in his mouth all the time. Sometimes it's his fingers and sometimes his fists. I called the doctor yesterday and he wasn't there but they put me on with one of the other doctors from that office. According to her 4 months is generally too early to start teething. She said he can be but it's still too early. huh???

She said just because he has his hands in his mouth all the time doesn't mean he is teething. Yet he is constantly drooling. Bibs are getting soaked...lately when I put him down for naps he wants to bite down on the outer part of the soothie pace. Then he cries and only after crying hysterically will he then take the paci eventually. I am so confused...Chat Icon

Re: Teething Symptoms...

babies learn about their environment by putting things in their mouths, and it's very possible that he is just discovering his hands. It is also possible that he is teething, since Ava definitely is and is close in age.

Re: Teething Symptoms...

I tried giving him teething rings but he didn't show interest in them. He sucked on it for a while but then he started crying. Guess he didn't like the coldness of it.

Re: Teething Symptoms...

My daughter started teething at 3 months and her first tooth popped out at 4 months. She was sticking her hands, fists, my shoulder, etc... in her mouth any chance she had, was biting a lot and drooling excessively.

Re: Teething Symptoms...

My DD started what I thought was teething at 3 1/2mths - biting on her hands, sticking her hands in her mouth constantly, chewing down on things, drooling bad and she is 8mths now and still NO TEETH!! So I think she was just discovering at that stage.

Sucks but what can you do....Chat Icon
