Tell me all about Etsy
I just started to browse there and I found some amazing things. I like the scrapbook embellishments that I can add to my pages so that I still make my own pages but in less time. I started looking for a french memo board.
I'd love to get more information from buyers or sellers. Is it the e-bay of the craft world? What are some similarities and differences, other than the obvious, between etsy and e-bay?

There is no bidding like eBay...
That's pretty much the only difference.
I've purchased from there about 4 or 5 times, with great success.

it's a heck of a lot cheaper to list on Etsy and it stays up for a long time too.

Etsy is supposed to be only hand-crafted stuff, but some of it sort of stretches the definition. I've seen some pretty basic jewelry that was just a bead on a wire. There are a lot of really nice hand-crafted items though.

It's supposed to be handcrafted items and vintage things older than 20+ years.
I've bought a bunch of things and it they were all smooth transactions. Sometimes the vendors have private sales too.

etsy is awesome!! all homemade stuff, so you know it's going direct to the people who made it. All the people I've delt with there are nice. Some do custom orders as well.
