Tell me how you make turkey burgers..

DH and I are trying to eat healthier. Tell me how you season your ground turkey for turkey burgers. I usually just add onion soup mix.

Depends....

-spinach and feta

-peppers and onions

-shredded zucchini and mozzarella

-BBQ sauce and some seasoning (fresh parsley, bread crumbs, garlic powder)

4th of july, I just mixed it with lipton onion soup mix and some crushed red chilli flakes.. came out great!!!

I like to make plain burgers and then marinate them in Yoshida teriyaki sauce.

1 - red onion, garlic powder, feta, chopped spinach, oregano, black pepper (served with yogurt sauce)

2 - like my regular burgers.... Worcestershire, BBQ sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper.

Love the spinach and feta idea! I've been mixing in chopped onions, cooked and chopped turkey bacon, and low fat cheese. Delish! Even my husband likes it, and he's a real meat lover!

I put cumin, chili powder, green taco sauce, eggs/breadcrumbs, salt/pepper and shredded cheddar/taco mix.

I make a tiny one (size of quarter) first to check for seasoning.

Finely diced green peppers, onions and garlic, mixed into the meat. Adds flavor without adding a ton calories or sodium.

That's my base and then I add on if I'm in the mood for something more. You can grate zucchini and throw that in, sun dried tomatoes, spinich, any kind of vegetables will add flavor and still keep it healthy.

My all time favorite is Oprah's Maralago Turkey Burger recipe People always rave about them!

Ingredients
1/4 cup thinly sliced scallions
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
3 Granny Smith apples , peeled and diced
1/8 cup canola oil
4 pounds ground turkey breast
2 Tbsp. salt
1 Tbsp. black pepper
2 tsp. Tabasco® chipotle pepper sauce
1 lemon , juiced and grated zest
1/2 bunch parsley , finely chopped
1/4 cup Major Grey's Chutney , pureed
Directions
Sauté the scallions, celery and apples in the canola oil until tender. Let cool.

Place the ground turkey in a large mixing bowl. Add sautéed items and the remaining ingredients. Shape into eight 8-ounce burgers. Refrigerate for 2 hours.

Season the turkey burgers with salt and pepper. Place on a preheated, lightly oiled grill. Grill each side for 7 minutes until meat is thoroughly cooked. Let sit for 5 minutes.

sprinkle in some of the ranch dressing dry mix and make ranch turkey burgers.

I like to saute some onions, garlic, and peppers which helps keep them super moist. Let the veggies cool a bit and then throw in BBQ sauce, Franks hot sauce, spices (usually s&p and montreal steak seasoning), mango chutney, and anything else that sounds good!

i dice onions and add worchestershire sauce, its really good!
