Tell me not to worry about my DH
He NEVER complains. Never thinks of going to the doctor.
Last night, he didn't eat dinner. He told me he wasn't hungry. I knew something was up because the guy eats like a horse.
When I finally nagged enough, he said his stomach was bothering him. I didn't think anything of it, but then he said, "I might go to the doctor tomorrow."
That really worried me. He said he has had a bloated, pressure feeling in his stomach, and it will occasionally hurt him. Its worse after he eats. He's had it for a few weeks.
He went to the doctor today. He had blood drawn, and he needs to schedule a cat scan.
Does it sound like anything serious?
I can't help but think the worse. That's how i am. I need someone to tell me it sounds like nothing....

Thats what I said. DH doesn't think so, and the doctor didn't say it sounded like that.... So I don't know...

Re: Tell me not to worry about my DH
My MIL had similar symptoms a couple of years ago and it ended up being her gallbladder. I hope they find out what it is and it's nothing serious.

I hate not knowing.
The anxiety and not knowing is always hard. Just be glad that, whatever it is, it is going to be treated.
I hope it's nothing serious. I know I can't tell you not to worry, though.

Re: Tell me not to worry about my DH
Sounds like gallbladder - bloated until you think your stomach will burst, burning radiating throughout the entire abdomin, hurts after eating (typical since the gall bladder contracts to let bile into the intestine, so if it is inflamed or there are stone blocking the duct, it will hurt).
As a side note: If it is gall stones, make sure he gets it out. The stones will never dissolve, so there will always be that 'what if' whenever he eats anything (especially anything with fat in it) and if they somehow do get out of the gall bladder and into his system he can get (pancreatitis? I think) a really bad infection that is dangerous. The only way to 'rid' the stones is to remove the bladder.
I had it done in February and did a lot of research on it. Best decision ever - no pain since.

Re: Tell me not to worry about my DH
My mother is actually going through the exact same symptoms right now - they are testing her gallbladder this week.
I know it's hard but try not to worry. If it makes you feel any better, I am the same as you - I drive myself nuts by jumping to the worst possible scenario instead of thinking of the million other little things that it could be.

Re: Tell me not to worry about my DH
I have been having the same pains/symptoms for the past month. I'm having an endoscopy on Tuesday to rule out ulcer or hernia, although my gastro does think it is gallbladder. After (if) he rules that out, he's going to send me for ultrasound for gall bladder. Need to figure out what it is because I'm in so much pain, but hoping no gall bladder - don't want surgery!
I know you're worried, but best thing is that your DH is getting this checked out! Good luck to him and I hope it's nothing serious.
