thansk ladies....I found that when he saw me it made it worse.
He finally went down at 1:30 am.....Christopher woke up and then went back to bed, I cant believe he slept through most of his crying.
I went in there and rubbed his back and just to check if he had a wet diaper, and he would contiually flip over on his back, (he is a belly sleeper)
I almsot gave in and warmed a little bottle and when I went up there, he was sound a sleep on his side after putting the crib aquarium on.
He then woke up again at 4 am, and then knew he was hungry. I gave him a bottle then he went cak to sleep . He fussed alittle at 6 am, but I didnt go in and he fell aslepp with the aquarium on, and then woke up at 7:30
Im so tired. Thank goodness DH is away, because Idont think he would have been able to handle it, now the lack of sleep.
I know Im in for another night...I can just tell.
Then back to work on Monday, I hope it gets better..
Thanks ladies for listening.....hope I can get some more advice from BTDT moms

Good job!!! It aint easy but its worth it. I also had to do it when DH wasnt home, because I knew he could not handle it AT ALL!!!

So, after a tooth popping up on Christopher...Matthew has s rough spot on his gum, so I think any day now it will pop up.
He had a really rough day crying during the bottle. I have never seen him like this.
So..I think he is in a lot of pain...I cant let him CIO tonight right??
Now it breaks my heart knowing if he was in pain last night

You are NOT a bad mommy. You child needs to know that you are here. This CIO theory is so old and was only the theory of one Dr.
Unfortunatelly his theory made it through the ages and still alive today. Plenty of psychiatrist do not approve of the CIO.

Diane, I think you're doing a great job. I also learned the hard way with Jack that once we started letting him CIO, we couldn't go in to soothe. It just made it so much worse. Like everytime he saw us, he started all over again and would be more upset than the last time. The 1st night of not going in....he cried for 40 mins. The worst 40 mins EVER. But he fell asleep, the next night 30 mins, then 20 mins etc. It totally does work!!!
As far as the teething...I would put the little teethers or orajel or whatever brand you have on his gums and then do CIO. I found the best way to be successful with CIO is to be consistent. Good luck

Thanks....WOW....40 minutes.....it was 2 hours with him...so that means tonight he will only cry an hour??

I think that if he's teething, some tylenol will definitely help. I know it's hard to hear your little one cry, but it really does get better. I promise hang in there and stay strong!
