I went there once last year - the food is really good and the service was great. I loved the setting of an old bank. There were small dining rooms all over that used to be offices. It makes for quieter dining areas. If you are headed out that way, 21 Main in West Sayville is out of this world too.

Wonderful choice - the dress code is casual dressy. I wouldn't recommend jeans, but other than that you are okay.

As far as after...You could go to the Martini bar on Route 111 or if you head east or west on Montauk Highway there are a few bars in the area.
Lily Flanagans is a few blocks away from Tellers in Islip.
Enjoy!!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Tellers Restaurant

I have been there several times and wear the same as what I would wear to work, business casual. Enjoy, I love this place!

Re: Tellers Restaurant

There's the Playhouse Martini Bar & Lounge in Bay Shore, which is only a few miles west of Tellers on W. Main Street. DH & my brothers have been to it and they say the drinks are GREAT!

Otherwise, about 3/4 of a mile east on Main Street is The Gatsby. It's a restuarant and they have a bar that is AMAZING & always hoppin'!!!

Re: Tellers Restaurant

As another poster said, I would classify it as casually dressy. Enjoy!!!

Re: Tellers Restaurant

My husband and I have been to Teller's a couple of times and I don't see what all the hype is about. I don't think it is that great. Also, if you end up in the main room it is far from romantic. It is very loud and the tables are almost smack up against one another. I felt like we were eating with the people next to us.

I love Tellers! My husband and I generally go to the bar for drinks and a small dinner. Get there early and have a cosmo for me! They are so yummy!

I love tellers! You should definitely get there early for a drink at the bar. Also, check out the wine cellar. It's in the old bank vault.Chat Icon

I don't think so, but it all depends on how much you drink. I didn't see anyone post this so I'm going to tell you, If you love mac and cheese, get it. It is SO GOOD!! I know, I know, mach and cheese is kiddie, but it's amazing!!!!

Re: Tellers Restaurant UPDATE W/ QUESTION

Probably around $150-200 depending on how much you drink. We shared an appetizer, but didn't do dessert (too stuffed), ordered the Porterhouse for 2 and 2 sides and a couple of drinks - it was around $160ish.

Honestly....with alcohol DH and I generally spend about $200 plus tip there.
Drinks are around $10 each, bottles of wine start around $30 and appetizers are at least $10 main courses are a la carte (meaning each thing is priced individually), so a porterhouse for two might be around $65 with an additional $10 each for spinach, potatoes etc.
