Template letter for unprofessional dr office visit?
I'm really annoyed w/the Dr I saw today for ENT
He was rude and then answered his cell phone in the middle and left the room for 10 mins
anyone have a generic template letter I could start with? I want to write a letter to complain

Re: Template letter for unprofessional dr office visit?
this is interesting to me, because DH is a doctor, and I know he answers my calls when he's with patients, he doesn't think its a big deal, and hasn't got any complaints. But DH comes off as a really nice guy, so maybe that's got to do with it.
Does the doctor work at a center or hospital or are they on their own? I don't know what a complaint would really do, unless he did something to hurt you. But I found this really informative web site:
How to Write an Effective Complaint Letter About a doctor

I have to agree, my doctor has answered the phone while talking with me, but he is the greatest, so I guess it never bothered me. My response was to the fact that he was rude to her. There are too many doctors out there to stay with one that you are unhappy with.

I would kick my doctor's a$$ if they took personal phone calls while in the room with me. (Unless emergency of course)
I think it's rude to call anybody at their job though. I have called my husband a handful of times at work in the past few years. We do text, but I don't expect him to answer while busy. (Plus, he doesn't deal with people, he is just on the computer forecasting all day.) If someone's phone was going off while I was with them and they took it, I'd be pretty perturbed.

Re: Template letter for unprofessional dr office visit?
Thanks. My mom is a doc, all my cousins are docs and my DH is a pharm in a hospital and works with docs, and from what I explained, my DH and mom both said that sounds rude. He answered the phone and left when I was talking mid-sentence, and this issue has been ongoing, and it was my FIRST time meeting him. The way he spoke to me was rude too. Then he kind of said I could leave and I never knew he wanted to see me next month until I was paying my copay.

kick DH for me! i want to yell at him for even picking it up when he's with a patient.
I wonder if its something more going on, with the OP than just a cel phone call.
My gyn, used to get calls from either his lawyer or his wife during my exams. It never bothered me. I always thought it was funny. He even said to me "its either my wife or lawyer, either way its trouble"
eta: I guess my point is, if its a good doctor that you like a cel phone call isn't going to bother you, if its quick and seems important.

Re: Template letter for unprofessional dr office visit?
i would be annoyed too...I work in the health field as well. I think it is rude especially on the first meeting Dr's need good bed side manners and time to time they forget...I once told a dr off cause they made we wait for her to come back from vacation to get results back on my dd test meanwhile there are 2 other attendings in the office who should be covering turned out my dd needed medicine to help her reflux she is now on 2 different meds so it must have been bad enough so why did my daughter have to suffer until she came back...I was so ****** anyway I think that your feelings are valid and I would deffinately say something

Re: Template letter for unprofessional dr office visit?
I don't have a template letter but it is unprofessional unless it was an emergency. True emergency!
I can't imagine answering my phone when I am with a client. I don't even have my phone with me or there is no volume, not even vibrate.

Re: Template letter for unprofessional dr office visit?
Now, that I think about it, none of my drs have ever answered a call while with me. Not my reg dr, ob, ped, others. I would be annoyed though. They all have their receptionists take messages. Everytime I left a message they always call back very quick, inbetween patients, never longer than 30 mins.
