Tempting to guess baby's gender from sonogram?
We aren't finding out the gender but when we see the sonogram, I swear it looks like a boy. Did any other moms who decided not to find out their baby's gender have the same temptation? Any ideas about how to resist the urge?

Yes! I thought I saw from the 12 week sono what were ovaries, so I was convinced they were girls. Then I read that the testes are on the outside of the body - they kind of were in the pics, so I swore they were boys. I still don't know if those were ovaries. I also looked up every sonogram known to man online and couldn't really come to anything conclusive - it drove me nuts! In the end, it's what kept me going - I was so glad that I didn't figure it out. Good luck!

If you are not finding out, most techs would not give you a picture that reveals anything.

I'm not sure if all doctor's offices do this, but my office invites us to bring a dvd-rw disk that just records the doctor measuring the baby and recording its heartbeat. Of course it depends upon the position of the baby, but one of the two was facing us while the doctor was trying to measure it and kicking and we saw clear between it's legs although 13 weeks is still so early for first time parents like us to declare anything with certainty. Our doctor didn't give us any revealing pictures, but the position of the baby is very clear on the sonogram dvd. The other baby was lying on its back and so nothing was revealed.
It seems like the only surefire way to not find out is to stop bringing our dvd, although that would stink.
