Terminal 4 Parking at JFK
I've never parked right at JFK, we usually do car service or take the train. But, I don't want to do either this time. Has anyone parked near Terminal 4? Is it super close or like LGA where the parking garage is so far to the new Delta terminal?

I have not parked at JFK but I have used SmartPark to fly out of JFK and have always been happy with the service. You can usually find a coupon or groupon for cheap parking as well.

Thank you, I don't really want to do that since I'm avoiding the shuttle because it's a pain with myself and 2 kids!

Re: Terminal 4 Parking at JFK
I just parked there last month to get my kids Global Entry. It was easy and right across the street from the terminal. It might be expensive to park there long term. That said, the long term parking lot is so far from the terminals it's such a pain in the butt.

The last few times I went, we parked in long term parking at Lefferts Boulevard. It think it's $20 the first day and then $10 each additional day. You can pay with your EZ Pass. It's pretty easy to jump on the air train. It's about a 5-10 minute ride.

We used to use long term parking all the time but the one thing I will say is that depending on what time of day you are traveling sometimes if you just miss the air train you can wait up to 20 minutes for the next one. Which, depending on how close you are cutting things to your flight can be very nerve wracking. It's also a pretty far drive once you actually enter the airport so you need to make sure you allow for that. And, depending on what terminal you are going to it can sometimes be a far walk from the air train to the terminal. Overall I would give yourself at least an extra half hour to 45 minutes if you are parking at long term parking. Over the years we have realized it's worth it to just take a cab to the airport rather than pay for long term parking and pay for the hassle. We use Delux car service and they are very good and easy to use.

We have never used car service and always park at long term parking because it’s so nice to use own car to get there and get in car after a long trip. Follow signs closely for long term parking. $20 for first 24 and $10 after. Then depending if you park close or far from the air train you can walk or hop on shuttle bus that takes you to air train entrance. Go upstairs and hop on air train to your terminal. Air train is free. Plan accordingly and add on 30 mins to do all before you arrive at terminal. It is so simple and never regretted it and find it much cheaper with kids to do this. Would never pay for a cab.

It's almost $40 a day, which is fine. Not worth the hassle of doing long-term parking and taking the shuttle with two kids by myself. Plus we get in later at night, we are coming from California so we are going to be pretty jet-lagged and just anxious to get home. I know we would be annoyed at the whole air train nonsense. It's a short trip to begin with!

Actually it's $20 a day, it's $20 for the first day and then $10 for each 12 hour period after that. So for us for a 7 day trip it costs $140 dollars to park at the airport in long term parking. Or we can take a car service for $75 each way and save the hassle. Cabs are probably even cheaper. I guess it depends how far you live from the airport. We are only 20 minutes from LGA and 25 from JFK so cabs are not very expensive.

I am not sure where you live but we always use Delux. It's super easy. They text you when you land and they meet you right outside the terminal.

Yes i know that is the pricing i meant. The distance for us makes it worth to just park. Even if we lived close we still wouldnt take a cab. My DH likes it better when it comes to the safety of his kids to drive himself.

Yea I might feel differently if I lived far from the airport but as it is it would take us longer to get to our car at long term parking than it takes for us to hop in the car service and get home. We use a reputable car service so never had a problem with the way the driver’s drive. If anything they drive a lot slower and more carefully than I do. Lol.
