Termite Baiting Systems-Question
We inherited a Terminix termite baiting system from the previous owners of our home, and we have maintained it for the past four years. Never had issues with Terminix, they did the inspections on time, etc. so we just kept renewing it.
However, we have not had an inspector look at the system since April. We called in June since a contractor had to dig up one of the baiting systems, and we wanted them to replace it. They were going to come ASAP, never showed up. So multiple calls later for this and our inspection (it was supposed to happen in mid-July), with no return phone calls, information, or explanations, we are beyond disgusted. We are paid through January, so I guess I'll keep harassing them until they finally see fit to do their job.
But anyway, here is the point of my message (vent over)! Is it possible to get another company to take over this system or would we need to purchase a whole new system from another company? Has anyone ever switched companies this way? I called one company, but was told we would need to purchase their system which is over $1000! So I'm feeling stuck. Any suggestions?

Re: Termite Baiting Systems-Question
we bought a house that had a system and we called these guys to come in and look at it.
Innovative Termite & Pest Control 631-471-2822
Explain to them your situation and maybe they can help you. They are fantastic. The service contract for the year is about $300 and they come a few times to check the traps and put the bait in it if necessary.
good Luck

Re: Termite Baiting Systems-Question
We inherited Terminix as well. I called another termite company that my mom uses and they said they use a different baiting system then Terminix. We would have to have Terminix come and remove their system, which I didn't know how much that would cost, then the other company would install their system. I was told not too many places use the same system as Terminix, if any. Its worth a try to call and find out prices though. I called Brennan Termite and Pest Control in Seaford and they were relatively reasonable. I've also had several companies tell me it's just easier to keep the system we have as well.
I'm surprised you've had such trouble with Terminix too. They have been pretty good with their service with us and we added pest control as well to our contract. Good luck!

Re: Termite Baiting Systems-Question
Thanks foe the info! So I'll call around a bit this Fall and see what we come up with. Though it sounds as if we might be stuck with Terminix.
I would say they are in breach of contract at this point, since it states we have inspections at certain intervals, but what can we so really? It's annoying though, especially since there is no explanation on thei end.
