terrible situation. 30 yrs old, single mom, use to work for dh
has cancer, bad.
chemo is not working, so she is moving to surgery.
they are giving her a double mascetomy and cutting out spots on liver.
she has a great family, but they work mon-friday and are tapped out helping her pay for all the medical expenses.
she is posting on facebook for help to watch her daughter while she is in hospital.
I have never met her. DH says she is a really nice girl. Do I answer facebook request and volunteer for days? I really want to help and I am completely free. But do you think she just meant people she has met? I would want her to turn me down if she wasn't comfortable with this...I don't want to add extra stress to her life...but if she is faced with this I can't imagine going through this and looking for sitters.
do i just say schedule me for whatever day? its about an hour from my home, but I don't care...I can't imagine having to solicit sitters on facebook on top of everything else. but I also don't know if she wants to leave daughter with a stranger...

That is really sweet of you. I would offer my help and leave it up to her. Since she knows your DH she may be ok with it and it looks like she needs all the help she can get. I hope things get better for her.

What about asking DH to send her a message letting her know that you want to help, since he is not a stranger to her.

aww that is sweet ~ I would offer the help and since she knows dh she will probably be fine with it ~ that is sooo sweet of you! So sad that she is going through this ~ some  for her!

I would, but I would probably ask your doctor if you can be around her since you are pregnant since I assume she was going through chemo recently.

You're right, I read too fast and missed the part where you said it was when she was in the hospital. I was thinking it was when she was recovering at home. Sorry!

Check with your Dr. I heard conflicting stories on "radiation" and being near a PG women.
