Testing on Mother's Day... with a poll!
So, as it turns out I will be 12dpo on Mother's Day. It's a totally reasonable date to test..
So, should I test that day? On the one hand, getting a BFP on Mother's Day would be absolutely INCREDIBLE!! (umm .. ok.. getting a BFP on any day would be absolutely incredible!!  ) .....but it would be extra special, nonetheless.....
OR........... if things don't work out in my favor, it could really put a damper on the day and I am the type that really loves holidays! 
So... what should I do? 
Right now here's where I stand...... I will test only if I really do think there is a chance I will be pregnant. Last cycle I started to get AF signs early on and had a big feeling I was out even before AF came.
Thoughts?

I am so with you on this! I want to so bad for the same reasons as you but If I do and get a BFN I know I will be so upset and because everyone doesnt know we are ttc I dont think I will be able to hadle the "when are you gonna be a mommy" question. Its so hard I just dont know!

Hmmmmm Im on the fence with this one.
On one hand it would be AMAZINGGGG to get a BFP on Mother's Day... but if its a BFN you'll be really upset
Like you said, if you are feeling some symptoms... then I would totally do it! I am horrible at holding out too lol!

I say if you're having symptoms test. Getting a BFP on Mother's Day is too awesome to pass up the chance.

After testing on Christmas and getting a BFN, I would personally test the day before or the day after.
But this is going to be your month so you won't have to worry about anything but how to tell your DH!

do it at night, when the day is almost over. Don't drink a lot though or else it will be hard to get a dark +.
I got a + at night personally.

I voted No and only for reasons of my own. Mother's Day is a very hard day for me since I lost my mom. My sister and I usually spend the day with our Dad and our Aunt, Uncle and cousins (our Aunt is my Mom's sister) and it helps to distract us. I think that if I tested and got a BFN it would just make it that much worse and I wouldn't take the risk of testing because I don't want to make that day any worse than it already is.
That being said...that is why I wouldn't test. For you, you should def go with your gut. If you don't have any AF symptoms like you did last month then test but if you think you have some slight symptoms then don't test.

I say do it! I got my BFP on Xmas day at 12DPO and it made it extra-special.
A BFN is sad any day, Mother's Day shouldnt make it sadder.

That's a really hard decision. I think if it was me I'd test the day after Mother's Day. Knowing how upset I've been in the past with getting BFNs, I know it would just ruin the entire day for me. But if you feel like you have symtoms and there's a strong possibility it could be a BFP, I say go for it!!!!!!

i say just do it! what a wonderful gift if it's a BFP!!!! if it's a BFN, whats the difference between any other month? ALL BFN's suuck!!!!
ETA that if u get a BFN at 12DPO it doesn't mean you're out. Now, if that B!TCH AF shows up on Mother's Day, wooof that would just suck the life out of me! If you feel symptoms though, i don't see the harm in testing!!

Thank you everyone!!!! I decided I will test that morning.
The idea of getting a BFP that day is amazing.. and like some have said.. if I get a BFN it will stink like it would any other month regardless of if it's a special day or not...... Another thing is I will have plans with my family for that day so at least if I don't get the news I hope for, I'll be distracted all day long....
I'm going to take a chance on this one, unless I REALLY feel like AF is coming!! Which, hopefully won't be the case!! 
I appreciate everyone's input!

I put other because if you had a trigger shot, I saw you posted that you had B2B IUIs, a home pregnancy test may not work. I would just wait for the 2w and get a blood test if you have no signs of AF. Good luck!

Thank you for the input! actually have used the trigger before and it has been consistently out of my system by 8dpo at the latest. My dr agreed too that 12dpo would be a reasonable time to test Hopefully I'll get some good news!!!!!!!!

I looked at the BabyMed site and on 13DPO it said that if you're pregnant, 68% of home tests would show up positive. So I'd assume that 12 DPO would be a slightly lower chance. So keep in mind on Mother's Day that a negative may not actually be a negative! Good Luck!!

Good to know - i did the trigger this month also.
i'm going to be 14dp iui on mothers day and am considering testing also if AF hasn't shown up. I have bloodwork scheduled for the following day so i'll know either way for sure that day.. but the idea of testing on mothers day has a certain specialness to it i agree
to all of us!!
