Thank you notes
Is it just me that still sends out a thank you note - by email or most usually by mail?
In the last 2 - 3 months, I've given a number of gifts to people without an acknowledged thank you - mainly for kids presents, and one for a shower
ps - its nobody from here

I NEVER get thank you notes (or even a phone call or e-mail - NOTHING) from my brother and SIL for gifts that I send to their 2 boys.
Same goes for gifts that I send to my teenaged step-BIL 
I just think it's incredibly rude, because I was taught from a very young age to always at least phone the person to thank them for the gift. With thank-you notes, my mom would even make letters for us with dashes that we would trace over, so that we could "write" our own thank-you card.

I have not gotten thank yous for anything that I have sent. My niece who is 16, told me that no one sends thank yous. It is not the "in thing to do". I went crazy and told her that it is the right thing to do.

I always send thank you's. I just got a thank for from my cousin for her graduation. But never got a thank you from a friend for a Christening back in March. We went to the ceremony and gave a gift. Oh well. Guess not everyone does it these days. I will continue to do it though!

I *always* send hand written thank you notes.
IMO, totally rude not to.
I never received a thank you for an e-party we went to back in September....I spent a lot of time and money on the gift, and it really pi$$ed me off.
