Thank you so much ladies. what a difference a day makes!
so, heeding your words of advice, I got my head together and took a breath when I went home last night.
Luce was just about to have his last bottle of the day, so my MIL fed him after I snuggled him for a bit. He was entertained by his two cousins and his uncle, and then his daddy while I cooked a quick dinner (broiled hanger steak, mashed potatoes and sauteed green beans...done in 30 minutes!)
by the time dinner was ready, he was ready for me...I pumped quickly since he had just eaten and he settled in on my breast from 7:30 til 9.
at 9 ok I took him to his crib. he woke up during the transfer and I thought I was undone. but he took the paci for a bit and I left the room. I checked in on him twice...after 5 minutes he'd spit out the paci and started on his fingers...five minutes after that my sweet sweet beauty boy had soothed himself to sleep.
that freed me up so much. I was able to make his bottles for today (b/c HORRAY I had enough bm..and now have a little surplus!!) and had tea and crumpet with dh so we had a bit of "we" time.
we went to bed at 10pm. Luce, the punctual lad he is, woke up at 2:15 to nurse-one side. after he fell asleep I pumped the other side and went back to bed. he woke up again and 5 and nursed from both sides. I stayed in bed with him until 7 am b/c he was fussing in his sleep with gas.
at 7 I got up, took a shower, brushed my teeth and made coffee. I even washed and blew out my hair.
at 7:30 I heard him stirring. by 7:40 he wanted some love so I went in to get him....dh snuggled with him for a bit and then in his swing he went. I talked to him while I ironed and ate my oatmeal (which he showed a lot of interest in..moving his mouth and tongue every time I took a bite)
I then sucked down my cup of coffee, and dh stayed with him while I straightened up our room and made the bed. I layed out his clothes for my MIL and then I went to get him.
I nursed him until he was full and then for 20 minutes we talked, laughed and cooed at each other. it was the best time. he was content and alert and I wasn't rushed at all.
I left the house on time and didn't have to use vacation time for a few minutes with my son.
oh, and another feather for my cap...I am wearing PRE PREGNANCY pants today and don't look like a 10lb sausage in a 5 lb bag!!!
I tried them on out of necessity (the two pairs of post preggo jeans I have were dirty) and they ALMOST fit me fine (still a little tight on the waist but not uncomfortable!) I am so happy.
I don't kid myself to think that my life is magically into place now...but I wanted to thank you so much for your advice, support, and commiseration. I was in a bad place yesterday and you all helped me immensely. I really appreciate it.
thanks gain.

Good for you Jess! It'll get easier, I promise! And remember, YOU are important too. So start taking care of yourself and do whatever you want to do. I would (and still do) use my lunch hour as a "ME" hour...mani, pedi, brows, massage, liquid lunch with friends ...whatever...
