Thank yous
Does anyone else get tired of writing thank yous? Between the shower and other misc. gifts then the christening its a lot. I know I have missed some people and feel horrible but it so hard to keep track of all the thank yous.

Re: Thank yous
I kept all my addresses on the computer and when it came time for TY's printed their labels. Maybe try that for your next occasion??You can copy and paste your guestlist and make a new file. then take out anyone who doesn't come or send a gift! GL!

Re: Thank yous
As tacky as this sounds, I kept a pad on the coffee table. No present entered her room until I wrote it on there and then once a week I wrote thank yous. I can't tell you how many I wrote People were soooooooooo generous and I am very lucky but my hands. For her christening I printed picture cards on Shutterfly and wrote my thank you on there so all I had to do was address them. I couldn't write anymore.
Now we just went to a family reunion yesterday with relatives that we haven't seen since I was a kid and I have to start all over again.
I really wonder if DH knows how to hold a pen.

Re: Thank yous
For the christening what I did was I took professional pictures of her in her dress and I ordered thank you cards through snapfish (like the christmas cards that you get from JCPENNEY) and along with the favors as the people were leaving I gave them the thank you card so I didn't have to write out thank you cards after the fact.
Now her 1st b-day is tomorrow and we are having her party on Saturday and what I am goign to do is I am going to make my own thank you magnets with a nice picture of her and thats what I am goign to send to everyone.

I wish I could do that but I've always been told that a proper thank you must be personalized and in your own handwriting acknowledging the person individually and making mention of the gift, and that a favor with a thank you note doesn't count ***** for me.

Re: Thank yous
I kept a list on the kitchen table of birth gifts and that helped to keep track. For other events - I always used my invite list to keep track. For christening and shower I used labels for thanks yous saved some writing - the same I used for the invites. I printed two sets.
I know I missed some birth gifts but mostly my mom's friends and co-workers because I had no clue who they were and sometimes they didn't even have a card.
But I am with you - it is hard to write them all. I feel bad because I am thankful but I don't always get time to shower (esp when baby was little) - it was very difficult to find time for the thank yous esp with a colic baby!!
