Thanksgiving Appetizers?????
I am bringing the appetizers, I need ideas????
thank you
So far I am thinking of :
cheese and crackers
mussles in a marinara sauce
stuffed mushrooms
fresh mozzarella and tomatoes
Any other ideas?????

growing up, my grandma always did just shrimp coctail hanging on the side of a glass with some coctail sauce in it...
it was always perfect because the meal is so big, that you don't need a huge appetizer- the shrimp was just something nice and light

Raspberry Tarts....Everyone loves them. I bake little puff pastry bowls and then put some brie and raspberry preserves and top with slivered almonds. Yummy!
Baked clams are always good as are stuffed mushrooms.

I am jealous! My family will not have any appetizers!!!!!!!!!!
They used to put out a big bowl of mixed nuts, but now my cousin's DH is allergic....
We just drooool till the turkey is ready!!

Okay, here is what I came up with so far, how does it sound? I might not go with all of them but this is the list so far.
cheese and crackers
stuffed mushrooms
crab cakes
spanikopita
vegetable antipasta stuffed bread
spinach dip
fresh mozzarela and tomatoes
pizza bagels
shrimp cocktail
pigs in the blanket
veggies and hummus

The sad part is there is only going to be 12 people at my mothers house and we are going to have 5 courses----You got to love Italian holidays

My sister makes these and they are awesome.
Water Chestnuts & Bacon
Buy whole water chestnuts and wrap a half of a piece of bacon around it then skewer it with the thick round toothpicks. I like to grill them but you will need the grill thing to put them in or they would fall through the grill.
Then take ketchup add brown sugar and you can throw in some barbecue sauce or A-1 (I like to add Jack Daniels sauce to it) you can add cognac and mix it up.
Once the bacon is really crispy then baste in the sauce and keep grilling then you can pour sauce on the top not too much and heat in the oven for like 15 minutes at 350

I usually have cheese & crackers, chips, nuts..etc. I do have the Cohen's frozen appetizers in the freezer to make. I also put out olives and I'm making a bruchetta.
I always make too much.

I'm doing a spinach artichoke dip, salsa w/ tortillas. Crackers, cheese and pepperoni. Hot antipasta.
