Thanksgiving dilemma - sorry long

Previously, our family split the holidays at my parents & ILs house - brunch @ one person, dinner @ the other.

Last year my ILs moved to FL. So I'm thinking finally we can do something I want for Thanksgiving. My plan was to bring the kids in the night before Thanksgiving, go to the balloon glow (where they blow up the balloons), crash at our corporate apartment, hit the parade the next day & head to my mom's for dinner. DH hates crowds but was willing to do it for the kids. My sister & her family might come too.

After DH & I discuss Thanksgiving & he's agreed to think about it. SIL im'd me that she was having her FIRST Thanksgiving at her house. I explained that we had plans - I already reserved the apt for myself, etc. She CALLS DH (her brother) and tells him - they talk on the phone once in a blue moon. Now he's saying it's her first Thanksgiving, how could we miss it...I reminded him that last year, my parent (ok my mom is the only one who cares) got the shaft on all of the holidays while he celebrated the "LAST" Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc at his house before they sold it. Compounding the problem is that SIL had a very bad, heartbreaking year and my ILs just announced they're coming up for Thanksgiving!

What would you do?

And I just realized this is probably the most family related post...Apologies..will pay attention in the future.

Personally, I would stick to the plans already made especially considering your parents got shafted last year. This may be SIL's fist thanksgiving but you still have your own family to consider.
